"Pat Braden tells stories of the Far North, and brings his northern tales to the Registry Theatre on Thursday, Oct. 15.

"For most Canadians the Northwest Territories are strange and exotic.

"But for Pat Braden, it is home.

"Braden, who was three years old when he moved with his family from Edmonton to Yellowknife in 1964, was a musician and songwriter for 25 years before he started writing stories about his hometown.

"In 2006, he developed his stories into a 90-minute stage show that presents narrative and song against a sonically textured background.
