I have asked best guitarist of all time, already. Who is or was the best bassist?

A Happy-Tappy Question --
(See 'comments' link for Answers)

I actually picked up a bass cause I found guitar to hard to read. I heard "Tony Levin", (Look him up)-of early Yes and King Crimson. When I heard and saw him on King Crimson cds and DVDs, I was blown away! I now love Mike Rutherford-(Early Genesis),
Geddy Lee-(Rush), Alphonso Johnson-(Weather Report, Bob Weir), Rob Wasserman-(Solo, Bob Weir, RatDog) Jack Bruce (Cream, Solo), and Phil Lesh-(Dead)-(Other Ones)-(Phil Lesh And Friends)

Who do you think the best bassist(s) is, are, or were?
I might add that Tony Levin did stints with Peter Gabriel in Genesis and Solo. I wish Pete would reunite with them...
